Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday celebrated for eight days and nights. It begins on the 25th day of Kislev, the day that Judah Maccabee rededicated the temple after the Maccabean Revolt. While cleaning and purifying the Temple of Jerusalem, there was only enough oil to burn the lamp for one night. However, by a miracle, the lamp burned for eight nights. This is the reason that Hanukkah is celebrated for the same length of time, with one candle a night being lit on the menorah. Use our Chag Sameach Mailbox Cover to wish people a Happy Festival.
