World War II (WWII or WW2) lasted from 1939 to 1945. It was a global war, including all the great powers. It involved more than 100 million people from 30 different countries. Not only were military soldiers killed, many civilians lost their lives also. This made World War II the deadliest war in history. The term "The Greatest Generation" was made known by journalist Tom Brokaw. This term is used to describe the generation who grew up in the Great Depression and then went on to fight in WWII. It also describes all those who stayed on the home front by making contributions to the war effort. Our WWII The Greatest Generation oval magnet is a special way to show honor to those who served and fought in this war.
